Mutual Fire Insurance was formed by 44 Farmers in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley in 1902. Today, we serve policyholders in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario. We provide a full complement of insurance products including Farm, Commercial, and Home.
We also offer you something most insurance firms don’t: control. Because Mutual Fire Insurance is owned by our customers as opposed to shareholders, people are our priority. It’s this ownership that makes a difference. A difference evident in every level of our organization. Mutual Fire Insurance doesn’t just review quarterly results. Instead, we look at the long term, and how that might affect the lives of our clients. We plan, inform, and stand strong when you need us.
Our Board of Directors is nominated and elected by you, our Member Policyholders. Frankly, we think that makes us a kinder, more-understanding insurer. After all, isn’t that what you want? Someone who has your best interests at heart rather than the best interests of their shareholders? Insurance is something you buy in the hope that you never have to use it. In the event that you do, why not have the peace of mind in knowing your insurer is governed and managed by farmers, local business people, and homeowners like you?
