PARTNERSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY

OUR BROKER COMMUNITY

We are heavily involved with our brokers and the communities in which they operate. Over the years, we have partnered with brokers to donate to local charities like Food Banks and fundraisers to increase health awareness and disease prevention.

We also support our provincial Insurance Brokers Associations by attending conferences in British Columbia, Alberta, SaskatchewanManitoba, and Ontario and participating in various sponsorship opportunities.

SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION

Education is important to Mutual Fire Insurance. We support our staff with professional skills training and industry-specific courses. Additionally, we support our staff in pursuit of post-secondary education.

Through bursaries and student scholarships, Mutual Fire Insurance is proud to assist students studying agriculture, business, science, and insurance at the following institutions:

The Mutual Fire Insurance Company of BC/G.H. (Chub) Berry Award was created in memory of Chub Berry, who served on the Board of Directors and Executive team at Mutual Fire Insurance for the better part of two decades in the 1980s and 1990s.

A third-generation dairy farmer from a family with deep roots in the community, Chub promoted and supported agriculture throughout his life. He was active in the Langley Agricultural Association and 4-H, serving for many years as a 4-H Leader. He later served as Chairman of the PNE, 4-H, and Agriculture Committees.

Chub was a member of the PNE Board of Directors from 1982 to 1990 and, in later years, became an active supporter of the thoroughbred racing industry in BC. This award reflects Chub Berry’s leadership and encouragement of future generations working in agriculture in BC.
